Your Compassionate Guide on the Path of Healing

Hello, I'm Kaya Platt - a psychotherapist, wife, and mother.

I have a Professional Diploma in Counselling and therapy training focused on helping those grappling with anxiety, depression and major life changes find their inner calm once again.

My own personal journey makes me uniquely equipped to provide the compassionate, judgment-free counselling you need during this challenging time. Like so many of my clients, I'm intimately familiar with the struggle of crushing self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy. I understand just how hard it can be.

Despite having a good career, new baby, family and friends, I went through unexpected changes and losses that shook me in ways I couldn't initially grasp. I tried numbing the pain and "just got on with it" until I couldn't fight the pervasive darkness alone anymore.

It was hard, and I desperately needed help but didn't know where to turn. From this experience grew my driving purpose - to create a safe haven where others can find compassionate counselling and support, heal from trauma or ambivalence, and be truly heard on their journeys of self-discovery.

If you need a caring, experienced therapist to empathetically guide and facilitate lasting growth, I'm here to help. Don't hesitate to reach out.

Frequently Asked Question & Answers

What is counselling?

Counselling provides you with support and guidance through challenges like cognitive dissonance, ambivalence or passive aggressive tendencies. It goes beyond just talking and listening.

The goal is to help you gain a fresh perspective on your life, thoughts, emotions and behaviors through counselling and psychotherapy. This newfound awareness can empower you to make changes.

What should I expect?

Sessions take place in a safe, confidential space in Bushey, near Watford, where you can openly share without judgment. This is a place where an experienced counsellor / psychotherapist will listen with empathy and sensitivity.

Counselling offers powerful support during difficult times like anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger management issues, relationship conflicts and more.

How do I make an appointment?

If you're looking for a counsellor / psychotherapist near you in Bushey, Watford, Tring, Kings Langley, Hemel Hempstead or Harrow, feel free to contact me.

You can also call 07989954202 to discuss how counselling works or arrange an initial assessment for individual therapy, teen counselling, or other services.

How do your counselling sessions work?

Each session is tailored with no set agenda. It's your dedicated space to explore what feels important, whether preparing topics or allowing thoughts to emerge naturally.

Some enjoy having this time to gain perspective on their life, relationships, cognitive behavioral concerns, or other issues through solution-focused psychotherapy approaches.

How does online counselling work?

Zoom online virtual counselling allows private video or phone sessions. To have an effective experience, you'll need a quiet space free of distractions and a stable internet connection.

This offers convenient access to services like trauma therapy, anxiety counselling, and more throughout the UK.

How does face-to-face counselling work?

For in-person sessions, I have a private counselling office in Bushey/Watford with free parking.

You'll be warmly welcomed into a comfortable, confidential setting for your counselling, psychotherapy or other in-person services.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no set number as this depends on your needs and goals. Some prefer short-term counselling, while others choose long-term psychotherapy for deeper exploration.

We'll discuss if weekly sessions for individual therapy, or other approaches are recommended initially.
